Top Favorite Punk Bands pt 1

(school of rock)
About three years ago I started listening to punk rock music. At first, I couldn't tell if I liked it or not. I kept finding myself going back to it time and time again: I guess the music just grew on me. Now I listen to punk rock on a daily basis. So I've made a list of some of my favorite punk rock bands.
Let's get started!

(Elvira)

Descendants

Descendants is a punk band from Manhattan, California. The members are Bill Stevenson, Milo Aukerman, Karl Alvarez, and Stephen Egerton. The band has been around since 1978! My little sister also really likes this band. If Caitlyn (my little sister) and I are having a rough day we will just get in the car and listen to punk rock and let go of all our problems through the music. I would say our favorite song would be I'm Not A Loser. There's some funny lyrics in that one.

Minor Threat

The band formed in Washington DC in the 80's. The members are Ian MacKayne, Lyle Preslar, Brain Baker, Jeff Nelson, and Steve Hansgen. Minor Threat really set the standards for other punk bands. Although the band was only active for 3 years: they were a big part of a musical movement. The mentality this band had was a "do it yourself" mindset. If you truly want something don't wait for it to come to you: you have to get out there and just do it yourself. The band would tour the east coast and Midwest a lot. I think one of the main reasons why I love Minor Threat so much is because the energy they give off - it honestly just gets me so pumped up. The music is funny, fast, groovy, and full of energy. I think music is more than just something to listen to. If you can feel something from a song that's how you know the music has meaning. Some neat things that have happened with the copyright of the band is that Nike mocked Minor Threat by using the name "Major Threat" for a promotional skateboarding tour. Not only did they do this but they then proceeded to alter their logo. There are a few more copyright issues that have gone on with the band that you all could look up sometime if you are interested.

Choking Victim

This is one of the newer bands I discovered through a movie soundtrack. The band has been through many band members (mostly bass players). Scott Sturgeon (known as Stza) stuck through the band from start to finish, Skwert also played drums for a long time with the band as well. The band originated in Manhattan. Some people would say their music is offensive. The cover's of Choking Victim albums honestly throw me off from the music. You would think from looking at the album that the music is going to be an extremely dark death metal sound but it's really not lol. The band has the classic punk rock guitar sounds and amazing bass lines.

Dead Kennedy's

As some of you may know I actually got the honor of seeing this band live at 6 rounds of punk in my hometown. The Dead Kennedy's are one of the most popular punk bands there is. The band formed in San Francisco during the late 70's. The band's very first single was California Uber Allies.

So this completes this weeks blog post! I hope you all are having a great holiday break! Stay tuned for next weeks post on my favorite punk bands pt 2.
Be kind to one another and stay spooky! :)

Makeup Makeup Makeup

Now as some of you may know I will not go anywhere without a full face of makeup on. Some people think that may be stupid of me but - I always like to look my best. You never know who you are going to run into when you go places so why not look good?

I've been doing the same four makeup looks every time I do my makeup. I've found a couple of looks on the internet that I would love to try out.

My Current Four Looks:
As you can see all of the looks are very similar to each other. Which is why I started a makeup board on my Pinterest.

Here Are The Looks I Want To Try

I'd wear these looks daily depending on what I am wearing just to change it up a little bit

Makeup I Currently Use
Elf Poreless Face Primer
Poreless Face Primer Poreless Face Primer:
I use this primer on my nose and cheeks. It really does help minimize pores. This product is only $6 and you can get it at CVS or Walmart.

Elf Mineral Face Primer
Mineral Infused Face Primer Brightening Lavender:
This is the second primer I will use. Anywhere I didn't put the poreless primer on I will put the mineral primer on. When using a primer it helps create a smooth surface for your makeup to help you achieve a flawless look. This product is also only $6 and you can get it again at CVS or Walmart.

Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation (Light 42)
Lock-It Tattoo Foundation - Kat Von D | Sephora:
This is my go to foundation for all us pale girls! The foundation is full coverage: which I think is great because when you are pale and you get a pimple the redness is 10x more visible on our skin color because we are so fair colored. The foundation last a while about two pumps will cover my whole face and a little blending down the neck. Now I apply this with a cheap beauty blender I got from Walmart. The foundation is $35.

Ben Nye Neutral Setting Powder
3.0 oz Neutral Face Powder - Style No TP6:
I get this powder because it's long lasting. Usually, drag queens get this brand a lot: yeah judge me I dare you lol. But you can find this if you live in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area at Mangelsen's in the Halloween section for about $8
Limited Edition Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette
Related image
This palette has a lot of colors I use for all different things. I use the color Blackout for my eyeshadow and also a little bit on my eyebrows to give a gradient. I use the two colors Harajuku and 1987 for my contour. Also the color Pop for a blush. I don't know how much this palette was because my aunt bought it for me for Christmas. But I do know the palette was limited edition and is no longer in stores. I'm currently running out of my contour colors so I will have to buy either a palette specifically for contouring or find an eyeshadow color that works. I personally don't like to use creams to contour because it gets muddy looking underneath my setting powder.

Ulta Illuminating Powder
ULTA Illuminating Powder Yellow Diamond (warm white with a golden sheen):
This color is BEAUTIFUL for highlighting! I sometimes will let the powder sit on my highlight spots (like how you "bake" your face) and once you dust it off the highlight will be more pigmented and shiny I feel. This product I got at Ulta for $10 and honestly it was worth it! The pan is really big.

Nyx Slide On Pencil
Slide On Pencil:
I personally don't like really hard pencil eyeliners (mainly because I use pencil liners on my waterline) so this product really works for me because of how creamy it is. Honestly, it just slides on like butter. You can get it too for only $8

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original

This stuff will really hold on your eyeshadow all day long. This primer also helps with pigment I've noticed. So if your eyeshadows seem more pigmented in the palette than they do on your eyes try priming your eyes with this stuff them putting on your eyeshadow. You can find this product at Sephora for $20

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Blackout
Eyeshadow - Urban Decay | Sephora:
This is probably the blackest eyeshadow I have ever used in my life. I absolutely love this eyeshadow. This is the main color I use in my makeup daily. The pan will last you 7-10 months if you use it on and off. I used it almost every day and it lasted about 7 months. The product is $19

Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette
Naked Smoky - Urban Decay | Sephora:
I get a lot of use out of this palette. I use the colors Black market, Password, and Thirteen as my transitioning colors for my eyeshadows when doing a black smoky eye. The palette was also a gift from my aunt. Again you can find this product at Sephora for $54

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Granite
DIPBROW™ Pomade - Anastasia Beverly Hills | Sephora:
I will mainly use this just to outline my eyebrows. I shave off 3/4ths of my eyebrows so this product doesn't really work well for me to fill them in. I will be VERY HONEST this product does dry out! What I do to fix this issue is - I use makeup brush cleaner spray. I spray the makeup remover in the pot and it gives the product some oily moisture to soak up and makes the product usable again. This product is $18 at Sephora.

Elf Expert Liquid Liner
Expert Liquid Liner Jet Black:
I use this for my wing eyeliner and also for the darkest points of my eyebrows. Then I'll go in with my Urban Decay Eyeshadow and create a gradient to soften them up. This is a pretty cheap eyeliner but it does the job and it's very dark. You can get this a CVS and Walmart for around $2

Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick
Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Kat Von D | Sephora:
This is a go to lipstick fo me. I love matte lipsticks mainly because I hate using a lipstick that slides around on my lips. The only thing that really sucks is that the product doesn't last very long. For $20 at Sephora, I would expect the lipstick to last more than 2 months.

Ulta Fabulous Fiber Mascara
ULTA Fabulous Fiber Mascara Black:
Pretty cheap mascara that's pretty black and makes your eyelashes long. $10 at Ulta

Eylure Vegas Nay False Lashes Grand Glamour

Stunning lashes! These are hands down my favorite go to lashes. Found at Target for $8

DUO Lash Glue in Black

This stuff will definitely lock down your eyelashes for the whole entire day. I've gone to concerts using this lash glue and it held them on the whole night. You can find this at Sephora, Ulta, CVS, and other drugstores probably around $7-9

SO that is all the makeup I use to create my standard Smoky Eye look that I am most known for:
(I used black mehron body paint on my neck in this photo)
Makeup I Want:
Lately, I have been obsessed with two company's Jeffree Star Cosmetic's and Star Crushed Minerals. So here are some of the products I would love to own by them.
Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick $18 in Weirdo

I've only tried one of Jeffree's lipsticks and it was the color Redrum and it was too bright for my liking. But we all know I LOVE black!

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick $18 in Scorpio

This would be a cute color to wear to work. It's almost a gray lavender color. I like it!
Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick $18 in Androgyny
Image result for jeffree star androgyny lipstick
This would also be a good color to wear to work. But I would also pair this color with a really dark smoky eye. A lot of people think it's not very "goth" or "metal" if you wear pink makeup. But I say screw them! Wear what you want to wear!

Star Crushed Minerals in Undead Planet $8.50

Star Crushed Minerals in Vampire Star $8.50

Star Crushed Minerals in Impulsive $6

Star Crushed Minerals in Black Garnet $6

Star Crushed Minerals in Wine $6

I mainly would love all these eyeshadows because there is just so much you could create with them. Also I really just love the colors! I can't believe how cheap they are also.

So This concludes this weeks blog post. I hope you all have a wonderful week (: Be kind and stay spooky
